Pat Caldie

I have experienced organizational issues in many industries and from every perspective. As an outside consultant, I’m an objective resource that can sift through the data and tell it like it is. Without influences like internal relationships and politics, I am a trusted advisor with no agenda other than improving the performance of your organization.

Sociologist
I have been a student of human interaction since starting college. My curiosity led me from Bachelor degrees in Sociology and Political Science through Master degrees in both Sociology and Human Resources/Industrial Relations.

Educator
For better than twenty years as Adjunct Professor in the University of St. Thomas Department of Sociology, I have continually shared my curiosity and vast experience with students. It’s one thing to teach from a book. Quite another thing to draw case studies from personal business experience and provide students a richer understanding of the issue in question.

Practitioner
My experience has taken me far afield of any ivory tower. Although my studies provided a foundation, the real learning generally happens in the trenches, often, on the fly. I have held and managed every level role from individual contributor to leader and CEO. I know first-hand the ins and outs and obstacles associated with every position through the ranks. And I get that to effect lasting change, leadership development strategies must be relevant and significant.

Mentor / Coach
For more than twenty-five years, I have partnered with, coached, and advised business leaders on every aspect of organizational dynamics and leadership. My broad human resources experience extends to strategic planning, facilitation, executive development, leadership training and coaching. My unique experience enables me to see business and function needs clearly through client lenses. I take a "business first" approach and my experience has taught me how to get business results. Lesson One? Don't focus on what can't be done. Just determine what needs to change and put it into practice. Of course, assessment, analysis, planning, and implementation are a bit more complicated than that. But at this stage of the game, it's all second nature to me.
